Our story
Viet-Skype is a non-profit project connecting international volunteers with Vietnamese teachers from rural provinces
via online conversations.
In 2015, Yen Tran, a Vietnamese English lecturer, and Roger Gillespie, a Canadian journalist, began Viet-Skype. The idea was very simple: to help Vietnamese students practice speaking English, and to develop their intercultural understanding.

On the first days, we had only eight students connected.
Up to now, we have successfully connected hundreds of teachers from Vietnam to volunteers from
all over the world. Thanks to the generous volunteers,
this number is continuously increasing
more and more every year.
